43 Cultural Entrepreneurship Managers Graduated

Community leaders on their graduation as Cultural Entrepreneurship ManagersUnder the alliance Cerrejón - SENA, 43 Cultural Entrepreneurship managers received their diplomas on Friday, June the 22nd. This programme aims to train community leaders on skills to develop cultural projects for La Guajira.

The new managers, from Albania, Uribia, Tabaco, Oreganal, Los Remedios, San Francisco, Provincial, Zahíno, and Cuestecitas received 350 hours of training in the halls of Albania Sports Centre between February and June 2012.

The training included:
-   Reinforcing the concept of culture
-   Studying culture at regional national and world levels
-   Learning how to design, formulate, develop and evaluate projects
-   Conducting marketing and financing studies.

"As a member of the Oreganal community, I’ve always been concerned with creating spaces for culture in my community and this degree materializes my ambition. It is an opportunity for Oreganal start thinking ahead, with a healthy entrepreneurial youth to which life opens many choices. Cerrejón gives us the opportunity to grow and develop socially." said Carmen Pérez, manager in Cultural Entrepreneurship.

Cultural Managers also had the opportunity to showcase their start-up projects to companies invited by Cerrejón with the prospect that they become future patrons of some of the projects.

The event closed with performances by Miguel Calixto Diaz’s Vallenato Band and Albania Dance Group, part of one of the current cultural project.
