Sustainability Reports
For the creation of these reports, the Sustainability Reporting Guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 2006, a guide for the creation of sustainability reports, were used together with the Mining and Metals Sector Supplement of the ICMM.
The guide includes measurement, disclosure, and accountability to internal and external stakeholders regarding organizational performance in terms of sustainable development goals, thereby permitting analysis and communication of company economic, social, and environmental performance. This methodology also addresses the importance of providing a balanced, objective accounting of performance in sustainability by the organization and the importance of including both achievements and challenges.
2011
Coal quality is no longer measured solely by its heating power or its low sulphur content, but also by the social, economic and environmental responsibility of the product throughout its production chain. Cerrejón has made a commitment to carry out a responsible extraction and commercial operation. This Sustainability Report describes management of the operation for 2011.
2010
Our company is committed to gaining, and maintaining, the confidence of our stakeholders. In order to achieve this, we engage in consistent, transparent, and accurate communications. In line with this objective, we present here, for the sixth year running, our Sustainability Report. This report covers the mining operation of Carbones del Cerrejón Limited and CZN S.A. for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2010. It presents consolidated information on the economic, social, and environmental context.
2009
At Cerrejón we continue demonstrating the importance of generating trust in our stakeholders by way of transparent and accurate communications. We present our Sustainability Report for the fifth year in a row, covering therein the mining operations managed by Cerrejón Coal Limited (hereinafter Cerrejón) and CZN S.A. (hereinafter CZN), for the period between January 1 and December 31, 2009. It reports on our operations at the Mine, the railway, Puerto Bolívar, and the corporate offices in Bogotá.

Cerrejón is proud to present to its stakeholders, for the fourth consecutive year, its Sustainability Report. This report covers the period from January 1 to December 31 of 2008. It encompasses the handling of the mining operations of Cerrejón Coal Limited (henceforth Cerrejón) and CZN S.A. (henceforth CZN), together and henceforth Cerrejón/CZN, both at the Mine, the Railway, Puerto Bolívar, and at corporate headquarters in Bogotá.

Aware of its responsibility for transparency with its audiences, for the third year in a row Cerrejón has published the Sustainability Report according to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) methodology. In 2005 the Company began to use the methodology, and in 2006 it moved towards a firmer and more complete implementation. This Sustainability Report covers the period from January 1 to December 31, 2007.

The Sustainability Report is the result of Cerrejón's corporate desire and commitment to the country's economic and social development, which it sees as the best response to a land that is so rich in human talent and natural resources.
2005
More than two decades ago, Cerrejón led the country in achieving Social Balance within its organization. This was based on the idea that corporate responsibility should not be a mere commitment, and that we should develop a business management tool that allowed us to assess fulfilment of this responsibility and to let both workers and the community in general know about our achievements in the social arena.
