Oscar Epinayu, a Wayuu technician at Cerrejón

Listen as Oscar Epinayú, a Wayuu technician from the Maintenance area, tells us how at Cerrejón we work to strengthen our Equity and Equal Opportunities policy.

At Cerrejón, we seek to promote more significant equity throughout the organization, including ethnic communities, understanding that more than 40% of the population of La Guajira is indigenous, mainly Wayuu. For this reason, we have worked to adapt our working conditions, developing and evaluating our policies on equity and equality, adjusting processes, and conditioning work environments to generate better opportunities for everyone. Although 62% of the employees of Cerrejón and the contracting companies are from La Guajira, we also have a percentage from different areas of the country.
