Cerrejón Symphonic Orchestra starts its 2018 Concert Tour

For more than 10 years now, Cerrejón Symphonic Orchestra has promoted the talent of children and youngsters from the State and with the purpose of continuing with this project, this year it will start its concert tour at the Mirra Platform of the Colombia Square, located at the municipality of Uribia on December 1 at 6:30 p.m.  There, they will delight the attendees with the interpretation of Vallenata music and a piece inspired in the legend of Francisco El Hombre denominated “Caminos de Herradura (Bridle Paths)”.

The musical piece tells the story of Francisco El Hombre, a recognized minstrel of the Colombian folklore, who, one night while outlining notes with his singing and accordion, was receiving in the dark night responses from a contender who was defeating him.  Francisco ended up being the winner after realizing who his contender was, looking to heaven and praying the Creed backwards, thus intoning the most beautiful melody ever heard of. Cerrejón Symphonic Orchestra has been able to promote the talent of more than 400 children and youngsters from different municipalities of the region and fostering talent through artistic and musical education based on discipline, teamwork, commitment and the highest ethical and civic integrity standards.
