Cerrejón is pleased to announce that its shareholders have appointed Mr. Roberto Junguito as the new Cerrejón CEO, to succeed Mr. Leon Teicher, who is leaving, as previously announced, at the end of the year (see article). Mr. Junguito will officially join Cerrejón on February 20th, 2012.

Roberto is an Industrial Engineer from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, with an MBA from Wharton School and an MA in International Relations from The Lauder Institute at University of Pennsylvania, USA. He has worked for various international institutions including Chase Securities and McKinsey and Co., he was the Executive Vice-president for Restructuring and Operations for Avianca Airlines and for the past six years has been the President of Copa Airlines Colombia (previously Aerorepública S.A.).

Mr. Junguito speaks four languages, has lived and worked in six different countries and is a member of the board of various institutions, among them the Board of Governors and the Executive Committee of the Board of Universidad de los Andes.
