Mine

At Cerrejón our integrated operation begins in the mine located in the center of the La Guajira Department, Colombia, where we carry out coal exploration and extraction. We operate under high operational and environmental standards, committed to responsible and sustainable management that prioritizes the well-being of our employees, environmental protection, and community development.

Our mining operation is carried out in six active benches, supported by more than 450 specialized pieces of equipment, including trucks, shovels, tankers, and auxiliary equipment, ensuring efficient and high-quality production.

A key focus of our work is responsible land rehabilitation. To date, we have rehabilitated more than 5,200 hectares of land previously used for mining, contributing to environmental balance and the sustainable development of the region.
