  • Chapter 1: A Day as a Miner

    The special “The Path of Life in La Guajira” begins its journey at the Cerrejón mine. Esteban Pérez, a journalist from Noticias RCN, spends a day as a miner, which starts at our training area where he learns all the standards necessary to perform responsible mining with our workers.

  • Chapter 2: An Environmental Legacy for La Guajira

    In the second installment of the route, Esteban Pérez plants a tree in the rehabilitated areas of Cerrejón. Today, over 3 million trees have been planted to help form a biodiversity corridor spanning 25,000 hectares.
     

  • Chapter 3: Wayuu Women Protect a Forest in La Guajira

    In this third installment, Esteban Pérez arrives at the Provincial indigenous reserve in southern La Guajira, where Wayuu women manage a nursery that provides trees for the land rehabilitation process at Cerrejón.

  • Chapter 4: Health for Provincial

    Before leaving the Provincial indigenous reserve, Esteban Pérez, a journalist from Noticias RCN, visits the community's health center, the only one in the country that combines Western medicine with traditional medicine, built in partnership with Cerrejón.

  • Chapter 5: Urapá, Water 24 Hours a Day

    “The Path of Life” continues its journey, and now Esteban Pérez from the Noticias RCN team stops in the middle of La Guajira, in the indigenous community of Urapá, where, with Cerrejón's support, they have managed to have a 24-hour water supply.

  • Chapter 6: An Oasis on Wheels

    The route arrives in Alta Guajira to learn about the Water Train initiative. With tanker wagons from the operation, each with a capacity of 80,000 liters, Cerrejón supplies water trucks that distribute water to neighboring communities of its operation.

  • Chapter 7: More Education for the Children of Media Luna

    The team of "The Path of Life" reaches Media Luna in Alta Guajira to learn about the early childhood care unit built by the Sarrutsira community in partnership with Cerrejón.

  • Chapter 8: Dignity is Respecting Wayuu Customs

    “The Path of Life” continues in Alta Guajira, in the communities of Yokuyukutshi and Chorretchon, where they celebrate the delivery of homes and traditional shelters built through a community contract and business strengthening processes that benefit over 50 families.

  • Chapter 9: Navigating the Ranchería River

    The Noticias RCN team boards a boat to navigate the waters of the Ranchería River, a river that originates in the Sierra Nevada, passes through the Cerrejón operation, and flows into the Caribbean Sea.

  • Chapter 10: A Port Next to a Natural Park

    “The Path of Life” concludes its journey at Puerto Bolívar, a responsible port operation located next to the natural park Bahía Portete.
