Cerrejón informa

23 December 2019. Cerrejón regrets to inform that an accident occurred at the kilometer 98 +180 of the railway line at 10:51 pm yesterday, involving the southbound train. A Wayuu person, member of Ariachicanay community, which is located near to the site of the accident in a rural area of the municipality of Uribia, died after being run over by the train.

The competent authorities arrived at site and will undertake the pertinent enquiries.

The company expresses its sincerest condolences to family members and is ready to provide all possible collaboration and support to the community.
