
National Geographic and Indigenous Leaders Visit Cerrejón
As part of its ongoing commitment to intercultural dialogue and responsible environmental stewardship, Cerrejón welcomed in July 2025 a visit from a National Geographic team and Mamos – spiritual authorities of the Arhuaco and Wiwa Indigenous peoples from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.


Cerrejón reaches an initial agreement with the Provincial community and responds to an enquiry from United Nations Special Rapporteurs
Cerrejón and the Provincial Indigenous Reservation have reached an initial agreement that will establish mechanisms to comply further with ruling T-614 of the Constitutional Court and promote the development of this community in the coming years.

Cerrejón reafirms the willingness for open and constructive dialogue
Cerrejón has noted with concern the statements made by the United Nations (UN) Special Rapporteurs calling for the suspension of Cerrejón’s operations in the area of the Provincial community. The company also received a letter from the Special Rapporteurs on September 9 and has every intention of responding within the 7 November deadline set by them for Cerrejón to provide additional facts for consideration.


Cerrejón announces further donation of more than $671.320 USD in medical supplies to four hospitals in La Guajira
The Colombian government has again extended the national quarantine due to COVID-19 and in response to the sustained health emergency in La Guajira, Cerrejón will deliver 418 additional medical supplies and equipment worth $671.320 USD that will strengthen the regional response of first and second level hospitals in the municipalities of Albania, Barrancas, Hatonuevo, Maicao and Uribia.
