Cerrejón reaffirms its commitment to biodiversity conservation and the protection of endangered species in La Guajira through its Fauna Rehabilitation and Conservation of Endangered Species Program. In the last 17 years, the company and its neighboring communities have achieved significant progress in rehabilitating and protecting wildlife, releasing more than 72,700 animals and aiding in the conservation of the region´s ecosystems.

In an effort to promote biodiversity conservation within the coal mining complex, Cerrejón has contributed to establishing the Wüinn Manná Biological Corridor. This area of more than 25,000 hectares connects the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta with the Serranía del Perijá, creating a vital connection between two strategic ecosystems. This initiative encourages the return of species of great ecological importance and demonstrates Cerrejón’s firm commitment to the environment.

Cerrejón is pleased to present the action plan to address the Salient Issues identified in our third Human Rights Impact Assessment. This plan aims to mitigate human rights risks and impacts arising from our operations, as well as those of our contractors, suppliers and other business partners.

the indigenous community of Provincial and Cerrejón inaugurated the first health center located within an indigenous reservation in La Guajira which will benefit over 1,000 people belonging to this community.
