Following recent concerns raised by different actors about the status of our commitment to the Tabaco community, we would like to give an update on the progress of community initiatives.
Cerrejón participated in The Global Big Day 2020
Cerrejón took part in Global Big Day 2020 today, a worldwide birding day held each year to celebrate, recognize, and appreciate the birds living around us. Dozens of our workers and their families joined this celebration from their homes, observing some of the more than 500 different species inhabiting our department.
Cerrejón reaches five million litres of water delivered to La Guajira during the COVID-19 emergency
Cerrejón has already delivered five million litres of drinking water to address the needs of La Guajira and thus help in tackling the COVID-19 emergency. This aid is part of our partnership with the regional government of La Guajira to deliver water in Puerto Bolívar and the Mine (thanks to their treatment plants) and at other points along the railroad tracks with the Water Train.
Cerrejón workers launch#LAGUAJIRATÓN, an initiative to help the most needy communities in La Guajira
#LaGuajiratón es el nombre de la iniciativa que han lanzado los trabajadores de Cerrejón para recaudar fondos y comprar mercados para las comunidades más necesitadas en el departamento. Esta actividad, que es impulsada por el programa de Voluntariado de la Compañía, estará abierta hasta el próximo 19 de mayo. La dirección de Cerrejón, para apoyar los esfuerzos de sus trabajadores, decidió aportar un peso por cada peso recaudado.
