Cerrejón will donate three mechanical ventilators for pediatric and adult use to hospitals located at Riohacha, Maicao and San Juan municipalities. The equipment, expected to arrive at early July, will be useful for medical attention of Guajirans patients under critical conditions.

 Twenty young people from Albania, Barrancas, Hatonuevo, Maicao, Uribia, Villanueva, and the city of Riohacha in the Cerrejón Guajira Selection are participating in the Caribbean Champions Tournament to be held in Barranquilla on January 4 to 13 of 2020. The youths are currently in the physical training and technical-coordination stage with the support of the Cerrejón Sports program and the Fondecor Foundation, and will then represent La Guajira at this important tournament.

2,250 children from 18 educational institutions in indigenous communities in the municipalities of Albania, Uribia, and Maicao ended their school year showing better academic performance compared to previous years. Such was the conclusion of the traditional authorities and teachers who assisted at the meeting planned by the Cerrejón Foundation and the World Food Programme, which presented the results of the project “My School Lunch”.
